The European University Festival is an independent international scientific research event designed to build a strong and lasting scientific and cultural network for future generations, bringing together universities, students, researchers, institutions, and partners from across Europe and the world.

The Festival is dedicated to innovation and the future of research, with its first edition focused on climate change, one of the most urgent global challenges of our time.

The core objectives of the Festival are to Raise Awareness, Innovate, Collaborate, and Support.

The European University Festival aspires to become a global reference platform for scientific research, fostering dialogue between academia, science, culture, and society, and contributing concretely to the fight against climate change.

The Festival is open to all European and international universities, which will have the opportunity to present their research activities, scientific excellence, and innovative solutions, strengthening their role as global academic actors.

The Scientific Committee will be composed of leading international experts in climate science and climate change and will be chaired by Professor Michael Oppenheimer, Professor of Geosciences and International Affairs at Princeton University and contributor to the Nobel Prize–winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

A distinctive feature of the Festival is its public-facing format:
the event will unfold over four live evening events, inspired by the Eurovision model, broadcast internationally. Each evening will showcase and award outstanding university projects, combining scientific rigor with cultural and public engagement to bring research closer to society.

The most impactful projects will be selected for inclusion in the University Manifesto for Climate, which will be officially presented during the closing event.

The Manifesto and the selected projects will be supported by the full proceeds of the Concerts for Climate Action, broadcast worldwide.

The official launch of the European University Festival will take place in March 2026 with a high-level conference at the European Parliament.
