Professor Michael Oppenheimer, member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the organization awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 together with former United States Vice President Al Gore, will serve as Guest of Honour at the European University Festival.
On the occasion of the international launch of the Festival platform, scheduled for 21 May 2026 in Turin, Professor Oppenheimer will contribute his scientific expertise on one of the most pressing and relevant challenges of our time: climate change.
His participation represents a recognition of the highest level for the European University Festival, further confirming its role as a European and international platform dedicated to research, innovation, and the development of concrete solutions for the future of our planet.
Held under the High Patronage of the European Parliament, the Festival serves as a meeting point for universities, institutions, and the scientific community, with the aim of promoting a scientific, multidisciplinary, and collaborative approach to global challenges.
In this context, the European University Festival positions itself as a permanent platform capable of connecting academic excellence, institutions, and industrial partners, fostering the development of concrete, measurable, and high-impact projects in the environmental, social, and economic domains.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Professor Oppenheimer for his contribution and for his continued commitment to advancing scientific knowledge at the international level.
