European University Festival -  IMPACT CAPITAL PROGRAMME

Capital to turn university research into real-world solutions

The European University Festival is a permanent European platform connecting universities, research, institutions and industry to transform knowledge and innovation into concrete solutions to global challenges.

Alongside its industrial and communication partnerships, EUF is developing a dedicated programme to mobilise philanthropic, institutional and long-term private capital to support the development, implementation and scaling of selected university solutions and the platform required to make this possible.

From research to implementation

The EUF model supports projects through a structured pathway:

Universities → Scientific Selection → Finalists → Winners → Funding → Implementation

The objective is to bridge the gap between research and real-world application by supporting pilot projects, validation, development, scalability and access to relevant industrial and financial partners.

2027–2032

The EUF Impact Capital Programme is designed as a multi-year initiative capable of mobilising private, philanthropic and institutional resources around solutions selected through the EUF platform.

Resources may support the entire pathway from identification and scientific selection to acceleration, implementation and scaling, including the activities and infrastructure required to operate the European University Festival platform.

This may include:

  • university outreach and project identification;

  • scientific selection and evaluation;

  • project implementation;

  • pilot programmes;

  • technical and industrial validation;

  • acceleration and development;

  • scalability and market readiness;

  • impact measurement and reporting;

  • programme management and platform activities;

  • mobilisation of additional public and private capital.

Catalytic Capital

The objective is not simply to fund individual projects, but to use initial capital as catalytic capital, capable of attracting additional resources, industrial expertise and, where appropriate, investment opportunities in scalable solutions.

EUF acts as a non-profit platform for identification, scientific selection, acceleration, connection and programme development. Any potential investment in selected projects takes place through appropriate external structures and remains separate from the institutional role of the Festival.

For investment partners, EUF can provide access to a qualified pipeline of selected university solutions, with potential opportunities for direct investment in scalable projects through appropriate external structures.

The programme will therefore focus not only on capital deployed, but also on total capital mobilised, solutions scaled and measurable impact generated.

A Platform for Global Challenges

The programme begins with Climate Change and may progressively expand to other major global challenges, creating permanent programmes dedicated to strategic areas for the future.

For philanthropists, family offices, foundations and impact investors

EUF develops long-term collaborations with philanthropists, family offices, foundations, institutional partners and impact investors interested in supporting university innovation and enabling high-potential solutions to reach implementation and scale.

Participation structures are developed through confidential discussions and tailored to the partner’s objectives, funding or investment approach, and areas of interest.
